Hi, I’m Addie, a therapist here at Austin Nutrition and Counseling. I’m so glad you found my page to see if we might be a good fit to work together!

I believe that my job as an intern therapist is to create a supportive and safe relationship with my clients within which they can feel seen and heard. My therapeutic style is grounded in liberatory, strengths-based practices that acknowledge how the identities we hold inform how we move through the world. I also practice from a social justice oriented lens, which means that you can expect for us to have conversations about how oppressive societal systems impact us and the challenges we’re facing. That’s a fancy way of saying that I want my clients to show up exactly as they are, with all their history and hopes, and everything in between.

I like to draw from a variety of modalities in order to meet clients where they are, and to tailor therapeutic interventions and tools to address the unique needs and goals of each person. I am especially passionate about integrating Internal Family Systems/parts work into sessions, as well as current neurobiology research for those clients who nerd out as much as I do on figuring out the “why” behind our emotions, triggers, behaviors, and more. You can also expect me to bring in perspectives and skills from modern Attachment Theory, mindfulness-based interventions, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I want therapy to feel collaborative and client-driven - you are the expert on you, and I strive to honor that. Our work together will be built on your values, goals, and perspectives, as well as my knowledge of social justice, body liberation, and trauma processing and recovery.

My passion lies in working with folks living with disordered eating, eating disorders, and body image struggles. If rest is just a four-letter word to you, if food feels like an impossible puzzle to solve, if you’ve tried other recovery styles or treatments and found yourself feeling silenced and shamed, I think we’d have a lot to talk about and work together with. I also recognize that eating disorders are often just one part of the puzzle for folks, and am passionate about addressing struggles with anxiety, depression, and trauma processing as well. I believe therapy should meet the care needs of the whole person. If what you’ve read so far sounds like we might be a good fit, please reach out to schedule a consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!

Addie has a private pay rate of $160/hr. She will soon be paneled with BCBS, Cigna, and Aetna insurances.
