Hi and welcome! My name is Sydney Koewler, and I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and therapist. I’m glad you’re here and invite you to explore my page to see whether we might be a good fit.
I approach therapy from a trauma informed, strengths based perspective, with the belief that growth and healing are possible for everyone. I know how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy, especially when concerns around food, body image, and self worth are involved, and I aim to create a space that feels safe, steady, and supportive. My hope is that therapy feels collaborative and grounded, where clients feel met with curiosity and compassion and can move at a pace that feels right for them.
My work is informed by approaches that emphasize emotional regulation, flexibility, and building a more compassionate relationship with oneself. I am HAES aligned and have experience supporting adolescents and adults with a wide range of eating disorder experiences, along with the anxiety, depression, and trauma that often accompany them. I focus on helping clients develop skills that support daily life while also creating space to better understand the patterns, emotions, and relationships that shape their experiences.
I have worked in higher levels of care within eating disorder treatment settings, supporting clients at different stages of recovery and with varied presentations. These experiences have shaped my deep respect for the complexity of eating disorders and the individuality of each person’s healing process. I am especially passionate about supporting clients in their recovery while also helping loved ones better understand eating disorders and feel more equipped to offer meaningful support and advocate for appropriate care.
Across all of my work, I strive to practice in a way that is trauma informed, culturally humble, and mindful of the larger systems that impact mental health. I value collaboration and believe that healing often extends beyond the therapy room and into relationships, environments, and daily life.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m an avid reader, a dedicated sewist who loves making my own clothes, and a devoted dog parent to three large dogs. Tex is a Labrador, Daisy is a Great Pyrenees, and Honey is a Labradoodle. I’m also passionate about rescuing and fostering dogs, and I find that caring for animals reflects many of the values I bring into my work, including patience, consistency, and compassion.
If you feel that my approach may align with what you’re looking for, I’d love to support you in your therapeutic journey.
