Hello! My name is Aliyah White, LPC-A, and I am an associate counselor here with Austin Counseling and Nutrition. I graduated from Houston Christian University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before that, I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology. My love for supporting others' mental health began in high school when I helped a loved one get through a dark time. From then until now, the love has grown. I strongly advocate for mental health; I believe every person deserves proper mental health care with a supportive therapist. It brings me joy to help people who struggle with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and life transitions. My ultimate goal is to help clients navigate their therapeutic journey in a way that makes them feel optimistic about the future.

I aim to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for my clients during therapy sessions. Therapy can be daunting, and hence I believe that the environment should be calming and welcoming. My approach to therapy is rooted in cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral techniques, wherein I assist clients in identifying their behaviors and work collaboratively to challenge these behaviors. Along with this, I also integrate mindfulness techniques to promote a peaceful balance.

I am passionate about working with ages 8 years old and older. As a counselor, I aim to provide clients with safety, security, and empathy as we work together toward their goals. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out via the contact form. From there, we can schedule a free consultation call.
