Eating Disorder Therapy in Austin, Texas

Hi y'all, and welcome. If you've landed here, you may be looking to find somebody to support yourself or a loved one on their therapeutic journey toward healing. It can be a daunting task to find a therapist that aligns with your values, needs, and wants, and I am here to help!

I am a native Austinite and Licensed Social Worker. I graduated from Texas State University with my Bachelors in Social Work in 2017, and have since graduated with my Masters in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin in 2019. In addition, I am a parent to a toddler, and I love animals! I have two dogs and two cats who may grace a session every now and then.

I have been working in the field since 2017 and have experience serving folx in many different phases of life. I began my work with Austin's most vulnerable community, our houseless neighbors, and have moved toward clinical work since earning my Masters. I believe every individual is capable of personal growth and healing through a safe space to process, partnered with a clinician who is there to cheer you on and help guide you through the ins and outs of the process.

My primary clinical focus has been centered around helping individuals cope with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and sexuality, along with couples' and family work. I love working with teens and young adults navigating life transitions and processing the day-to-day. I want my clients to know I care about them and believe in them.

I have experience working in PHP and IOP levels of care and understand the multifaceted obstacles that arise when coping with these challenges. I would describe my therapeutic style as open, gentle, thoughtful, and at times playful, taking care to meet my clients where they are comfortable.

I utilize skills-based modalities such as DBT and ACT, along with relational and psychodynamic perspectives to understand the patterns we fall into, and to learn from them. I hope to build an honest and vulnerable relationship with each client I work with through a safe and inviting environment.

I am currently only seeing individuals in person on Mondays and Fridays, and all other appointments are virtual. If you are interested in learning a bit more and would like to talk, reach out at (737) 235-7735 or br@austincounselingnutrition.com, and let
