I provide therapy to individuals ages 13+,

couples/relationships, and families.

Hi and welcome! My name is Hannah, and I'm a clinical social worker (LCSW) and one of the therapists here at Austin Counseling and Nutrition. I invite you to take a look at my page to see if we may be a good fit.

I work from a hopeful, strengths-based perspective, believing that growth and healing are possible for every client. I recognize the courage and vulnerability it takes to pursue therapy, so I do my best to make sessions feel safe and comfortable, where you can show up as you truly are, on easy days and hard ones. I believe that as a reflection of life, therapy can have moments of fun and laughter in the midst of working towards your goals. I also believe we all want to feel known, seen, and valued for who we are and what we bring to the world, and I desire to help my clients experience that in the process of our work together.

I work with clients using a variety of modalities, but primarily I focus on utilizing an attachment framework to build a safe space, EMDR therapy and parts work/IFS to process trauma, embodiment work to build a safer relationship with oneself and one's own body, and DBT skills to manage emotional overwhelm. I also provide psycho-education for the purpose of helping broaden perspectives to gain new insights. My therapeutic lens is relational, solution-directed, culturally humble, and aware of the impact of systems on the individual. I also employ modern neuroscience education when appropriate.

My past experience as an inpatient psychiatric social worker and in running a DBT IOP for teens have helped me develop the skills I employ as a therapist. I hope to provide a space for you as you explore new ways of interacting with your world, your relationships, and yourself. While I work with many people and their struggles, I focus on providing support as an eating disorder therapist, as well as providing trauma therapy and therapy for depression and anxiety. In all my work, I strive to be trauma-informed, social justice-informed, and culturally humble. I also love to work with individuals, couples, and families to improve their relationships, and to gain skills for building and keeping secure relationships with others.

If you feel that I may be a good fit to support you, your teenager, or your family, please reach out to me at 512-777-0625 and I would be happy to set up a free 15-minute consultation call to see if we would be a good fit. Trauma can make us feel so alone, but you don't have to walk this path by yourself. I'm trained in EMDR therapy, a well-researched trauma therapy that helps individuals process trauma through the body. EMDR can be a very beneficial tool to use in the healing process from trauma or any difficult life experience. I also utilize parts work, through the method of Internal Family Systems (IFS), to help individuals resolve trauma and painful current and past experiences. IFS is a compassion-focused therapy model that helps increase calmness, confidence, and self-love, leading to amazing healing for clients.
We all have relationships, but they aren't always easy. You may have different kinds of relationships in your life: friends, parents, partner(s), children, siblings. Relationships help make life meaningful. Sometimes, we need support to work on how we show up in our relationships. I am passionate about clients learn how to improve and sustain relationships in their life. I have training to provide couples therapy, marital therapy, as well as relationship therapy of other kinds. Go here to learn more about our approaches to marriage and couples therapy.
I strive to be part of the solution to mental health equity and liberation work, donating towards justice-centered mental wellness work, including funds for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folx pursuing therapy. I also offer specially reduced rates for BIPOC folx, as part of this work. Feel free to reach out to ask about this!
